Aparna has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from India. After practicing as a psychologist for a few years, she transitioned into the world of Education. She began her teaching career teaching IBDP Psychology in 2012. In 2014, she joined UWC Mahindra College in India and in her 7 years there, she wore various hats including that of the psychological counselor, learning support coordinator and finally, the Head of Student Life. She joined UWC Adriatic as their Deputy Head -- Pastoral in 2021. Aparna is passionate about facilitating transformative learning experiences for young citizens of the world, and strongly believes in developing social and emotional competencies as a means of achieving great success. On a personal front, she likes to spend her time exploring the outdoors and traveling, learning new languages and cooking.

 

"I strongly believe that the need to develop a pool of leaders that feel empowered, understand their own agency, and the value and challenges of democracy, sustainability, and social justice is most critical given the uncertain and complex world we live in today. Being an educator at UWC gives me the opportunity to facilitate that process!"
